On the olive tree and Mediterranean scrub covered hills of Massa Lubrense, in the delightful district of Sant’Agata sui Due Golfi, just 9 km from Sorrento and with views over the bays of Naples and Salerno, the Residence Le Capannelle stands in a delightful setting, with a wonderful panoramic view. At just 15 km from Positano and 30 km from Amalfi, it is the ideal holiday base for discovering the Sorrento Peninsula and the legendary Amalfi Coast.

The hotel Residence Le Capannelle stands midway between the Amalfi Coast and Sorrento Peninsula, which have been celebrated by artists and writers throughout history. They have always been popular with celebrities and monarchs and are still one of the main international tourism destinations all year round, thanks to their coastline, enchanting scenery, good cuisine and traditions.

Sant’Agata sui Due Golfi is the ideal starting point for amazing day trips by land and sea:

Punta Campanella, at the very tip of the Sorrento Peninsula, is a natural marine reserve, famed for having charmed Ulysses in the Odyssey – in fact this is the very place that he was reputed to have been tempted by the Sirens, who then turned into the legendary Galli islets when the hero rejected them.
The sea bed in the marine reserve offers inestimable archeological and natural treasures: amphorae, Greek and Roman remains, colorful gorgonia, yellow and red sponges, groupers and shoals of skipjack tuna and greater amberjacks comprise a spectacular submarine scene.

The bay of Ieranto, Monte San Costanzo, Crapolla, the Saracen Towers and many of the other bays in this crystalline sea, can be accessed by following one of the numerous paths that cross through some of the most beautiful parts of the reserve.

There are some beautiful wild beaches, set between the sea and the rocky coast that plummets into the turquoise waters off the peninsula. The Bay of Ieranto can be accessed by a scenic walk over rough, panoramic paths: from the square in Nerano (7 km from the Residence Le Capannelle apartments in Sant’Agata sui Due Golfi, a quarter of Massa Lubrense), a path leads through the Mediterranean scrub, becoming extremely panoramic in proximity to the Bay, with wonderful views from Punta Penna to Punta Campanella, with Capri and the Stacks in the background.

Marina del Cantone beach (9 km from the Residence Le Capannelle) offers bathing establishments and renowned restaurants, making it ideal for a day of total relaxation.

Make sure you don’t miss the beaches in Recommone and the Crapolla fjord, or the picturesque and lively towns and villages along the Sorrento coast: Vico Equense, Sant’Agnello, Sorrento and Massa Lubrense; and on the Amalfi Coast: the world famous towns of Amalfi, Positano and Vietri sul Mare.

All these are just a few kilometers away from the Residence Le Capannelle hotel in Sant’Agata sui Due Golfi, offering enchanting views and wonderful atmospheres that should not be missed.
